the 2018 MIIS International Workshop on Mathematical Issues in Information Sciences was Held in Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data

       From December 20th to 22nd, the 2018 MIIS International Workshop on Mathematical Issues in Information Sciences was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. The seminar was jointly held by Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD), the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHKSZ), Institute for Data and Decision Analytics (iDDA) at CUHKSZ, Xidian University, and Institute for Mathematics and its Applications at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. The seminar attracted well-known experts and scholars from worldwide universities. They exchanged new ideas, new technologies and innovative researches in the fields of information science and big data analysis.

       At the opening ceremony, Prof. Luo Zhiquan, Vice President of CUHKSZ and Dean of SRIBD, gave a welcome speech. He briefly introduced the achievements of the university in terms of school scale, talent introduction and discipline construction in recent years.

 

       Professor Cui Shuguang, Executive President of School of Science an Engineering at CUHKSZ, and Vice Dean of Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD), introduced the development status, research teams, scientific research achievements and vision of SRIBD.

       Professor Dai Jiangang, Dean of Institute for Data and Decision Analytics (IDDA) at CUHKSZ, introduced the development of IDDA.
