Dr. Wang Changmiao: Entering the New Era of Smart Healthcare
On October 31st, the second lecture of the public science series on big data, titled "Entering the New Era of Smart Healthcare," was held at CUHK-Shenzhen Affiliated Zhixin School. Students and teachers from Daoyuan School and Liwen School participated online. The event was attended by distinguished guests including Qiu Jianhao, Principal of the CUHK-Shenzhen Basic Education Group, Consultant Principal Mao Jianping, Zhixin School Secretary Huang Zhi, Daoyuan School Principal He Ping, and Deputy Secretary Lin Wanzhen from Daoyuan School. The guest speaker for this session was Dr. Wang Changmiao, Associate Researcher from Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data.
Dr. Wang introduced the topic by discussing the differences between big data artificial intelligence and human brain thinking, as well as comparing traditional healthcare with smart healthcare. He explained the core concepts and development history of smart healthcare in an accessible way, helping students understand its key technologies, and leading into how the new generation of medical AI is benefiting various aspects of healthcare.
Dr. Wang then used vivid examples such as "AI medical imaging," "electronic medical records," "Hua Tuo GPT," and "AI medical diagnostics" to showcase the specific applications of modern smart healthcare. Together with the students, he explored the limitless possibilities of combining technology with healthcare, allowing them to feel the real changes and convenience brought by smart healthcare. The lecture was met with enthusiastic applause. During the Q&A session, students actively engaged in discussions with Dr. Wang on topics such as "Will smart healthcare involve patient privacy?" "How does AI respond to issues when databases can't index information?" and "What are the drawbacks of smart healthcare?" Dr. Wang provided detailed answers to the students' questions and praised their bold and creative ideas.
