Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data and China Mobile Hong Kong Forge Strategic Alliance to Propel Hong Kong-Shenzhen Big Data and AI Innovation Forward
Hong Kong, 19 December 2023 -Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD) and China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) have inked a pivotal strategic cooperation agreement. This alliance is set to harness the combined expertise of both entities, driving forward technological innovation, application transformation, and fostering of talent. This initiative is a testament to an innovation-led strategy, dedicated to nurturing the growth of cutting-edge information technology and its associated sectors. Professor Zhi-Quan (Tom) Luo, Director of SRIBD, Professor Xiaoqiang CAI, Vice Director of SRIBD, Mr. Hao Ling, Chairman of China Mobile Hong Kong and Director & Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer of China Mobile Hong Kong, Ms. Xiaoping Shi, represented both parties in forging strategic alliance.
Zhi-Quan (Tom) Luo, the Director of SRIBD and a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, remarked, "Hong Kong and Shenzhen are core cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, playing a crucial role in the history of China's reform and opening up. Both parties have highly compatible scenarios and complementary technological advantages, offering broad cooperation possibilities. According to a report by PwC, the digital economy has a solid foundation in the Greater Bay Area. The digital economy's added value in Guangdong reached 6.4 trillion yuan, accounting for 12.8% of the national digital economy's added value, ranking first in the country for six consecutive years. With the He-Tao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone becoming an accelerator for the digital economy in the Greater Bay Area, a new round of technological wave and new industrialization will sweep the Greater Bay Area more widely and deeply.
