SRCON
Product Introduction
For network optimization in complex scenarios such as 5G/5.5G and future 6G, Academician Luo Zhiquan from the Research Institute, leading his team, has creatively used mathematical models and optimization algorithms to develop a technical approach for optimizing network parameters in complex networks like 5G/5.5G/6G. This approach includes two key features:
1. First technical feature: A data and model-driven grey-box modeling technique, called SRCON. SRCON is based on realistic network simulation modeling, allowing for the prediction of network performance based on any combination of parameters. It includes dozens of mathematical sub-models and has been defined by Huawei GTS as a foundational technology at the network layer.
2. Second technical feature: The development of an algorithmic framework based on ADMM (Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers). This distributed framework uses a zero-order random coordinate descent optimization method. It includes multiple mathematical algorithm modules, with the primary characteristic being the decomposition of a large-scale non-smooth, non-convex, non-stationary optimization problem into multiple relatively independent sub-problems that can be solved in parallel, ultimately finding the optimal parameter combination to optimize the network.
Application Scenarios
The SRCON platform can optimize networks, build digital network models, and accumulate digital network assets. Traditional network optimization requires significant human labor and repetitive testing, while the SRCON platform integrates statistical mechanisms into neural networks. It establishes large-scale simulation models of real-world networks, including multi-path channels, user distribution, and base station responses, providing a foundational mathematical model for network experience optimization. By combining modern mathematical optimization techniques, it achieves optimal control of network systems, ensuring the network remains ahead even when physical products face pressure.
The SRCON technical framework and its achievements have repeatedly helped Huawei secure significant victories in the 5G field. It has led the way in the European P3 assessments, including ranking first in overall 5G performance in Spain (VDE), Germany (Deutsche Telekom), and the Netherlands (TMNI), as well as first place in Switzerland (Sunrise), where the company overcame challenges in spectrum and site coverage to achieve the top 5G ranking. Additionally, Sunrise won the 2020 GLOTEL Best 5G Project Delivery Award.
The latest evaluation results released by Umlaut in October 2023 show that in Korea, 5G is providing an exceptional experience for users: The top 10% of users have an average download speed of 1174–1411 Mbps (depending on the operator), while the average network speed for all users is 774–1007 Mbps, resulting in an 8–10 times improvement in user experience with 5G compared to 4G. LG U+ 5G network stands out as the best, outperforming the other two Korean operators and continuously achieving the highest global speeds. The report shows that in both download and upload speeds, LG U+ is comprehensively ahead: For example, with an average download speed of 1007 Mbps, LG U+ is 16% faster than KT (868 Mbps) and 30% faster than SKT (774 Mbps).
