SRIBD Holds the Frist Doctoral and Postdoctoral Daoyuan Academic Forum
On April 24th, the First Doctoral and Postdoctoral Daoyuan Academic Forum of Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD) was held at Daoyuan Building. This forum focused on the doctoral and postdoctoral scholars from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and SRIBD and invited several scientists from various laboratories of the institute to engage in on-site exchanges. The event showcased the research capabilities of young researchers while providing a platform for young researchers and experienced professionals in the field to interact and exchange ideas.
This forum received an enthusiastic response from doctoral and postdoctoral students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and Shenzhen Big Data Research Institute since its call for submissions on April 2nd. The forum featured two categories: oral presentations and poster displays. Participating doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers chose their preferred category, and the top two participants in each group were awarded prizes.
On the day of the forum, a total of 6 doctoral students delivered oral presentations, and 10 posters created by doctoral students were displayed and evaluated during the poster session.
During the forum, the winners were determined through on-site evaluations. In addition to the judges who scored the participants from a professional perspective, the audience also participated in voting to show their support. The combined scores from both the judges and the audience's votes were used to determine the final scores for the participating doctoral students.
In the end, Li Ziniu and Zhang Tianjian were awarded the first and second place, respectively, in the oral presentation category. In the poster display category, Wang Yanmeng and Qin Zeyu won the first and second place, respectively.
The professors and research scientists who participated in the forum gave positive recognition to the work presented by the doctoral and postdoctoral scholars. Professor Cui Shuguang, the chairman of the forum, expressed his satisfaction with the event and mentioned that he witnessed the growth of these young talents during the activity.
Professor Luo Zhiquan stated that this was the first time the research institute held a forum specifically for doctoral and postdoctoral scholars. The purpose of this forum was to create a positive research atmosphere, and promote and reward outstanding research achievements. The forum received active participation, and the outcomes were fruitful with excellent results. In the future, the research institute plans to organize more similar activities, providing more researchers with opportunities to showcase their work and achievements.
