SRIBD, CUHK-Shenzhen, and Shenzhen Unicom have Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement
On May 18th, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement between The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD), and Shenzhen Unicom was held at the Administration Building 203 of CUHK-Shenzhen. Academician Zhi-Quan Luo, Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen, Director of SRIBD, and Director of Guangdong Key Laboratory of Big Data Computing, Professor Xuejin Li, Associate Vice President of CUHK-Shenzhen and Director of the Research Office, Dr. Ping Lee, Executive Director of SRIBD, Jianming Zhou, Party Secretary and General Manager of Shenzhen Unicom; and Haiming Liao, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager attended the signing ceremony.
The signatories of this strategic cooperation agreement are the Guangdong Key Laboratory of Big Data Computing, SRIBD, and Shenzhen Unicom Limited. The Guangdong Key Laboratory of Big Data Computing, established based on CUHK-Shenzhen, focuses on tackling complex computational problems and application breakthroughs in communication networks and smart healthcare. SRIBD, focuses on Mathematics and applications of data science, strives to be a world-class research institute and a platform for international collaboration, to contribute to the development of China's big data industry, to advance big data research and development, and to create social and commercial impact in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. China Unicom is a leading comprehensive telecommunications operator in China, with a modern communication network that covers the entire country and reaches the world, featuring a reasonable structure, advanced technology, and powerful functionalities. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement signifies that the three parties will work together, with the goal of mutual benefit and common development, to overcome industrial challenges, support 5G deployment, and dual-zone construction, and empower various industries.
The guests participating in the signing ceremony also included Xian Hu, Kaiyu Li, Fang Liu, and Guangbin Li from Shenzhen Unicom, as well as Professor Tsunghui Chang, Professor Xiang Wan, Professor Baoyuan Wu, and Professor Ruimao Zhang from the Guangdong Key Laboratory of Big Data Computing and SRIBD.
