Track Reconstruction for Train Attendants based on Information Fusion
Project description/goals
Develop effective information fusion methods, via wireless positioning technique and sensory data from mobile devices, to investigate the track reconstruction technology.
Propose the methods/solutions for the track reconstruction, and achieve the error less than 1m in certain scenario.
Importance/impact, challenges/pain points
An accurate track of attendants can reflect the status of the people and the train, which contributes to the improvement of management and operation efficiency.
The sensory data has limited accuracy; data transmission is time and energy consuming; relative position is difficult to estimate.
Solution description
Model- and data- driven methods to deal with the course data; visible light communication technology is applied for data transmission and positioning.
Key contribution/commercial implication
The proposed method may fit the common cell phone data, which can be widely applied.
The project results can be used in general indoor positioning applications.
Next steps
Design a demo platform for the track reconstruction.
Investigate the technologies of multi-user cooperation, recognition of behaviors and environments, and real-time indoor positioning and navigation.
