On April 26th, the Fourth Meeting of the First Council of Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD) was held at Room W203, Administration Building of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). Xu Yangsheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of the Council and President of CUHK-Shenzhen, Cheng Bozhong, former Vice President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Vice President of the Council, Luo Zhiquan, Foreign Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice President of the Council, Vice President of CUHKSZ and Director of SRIBD, Zhan Dishen, The Deputy Director of Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee and Vice President of the Council attended the meeting. And the members of the council, including Yu Dapeng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chair Professor of Southern University of Science and Technology, Yuan Yaxiang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Xiaoping, Academician of The Canadian Academy of Engineering and Chief Professor of Information Science, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Le Wenzhong, Director of Longgang District Big Data Center, Li Xuejin, Associate Vice President of CUHKSZ, Zhang Bohui, Executive Dean of School of Management and Economics, Zhang Shuzhong, Professor of the University of Minnesota, Zhou Bowen, Professor of Tsinghua University, Kong Hui, Assistant Director of National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen, attended as a representative of the Council's unit. Representatives from SRIBD, Lee Ping, The Executive Director, Cai Xiaoqiang, Vice President, Yu Tiegen, Dean's Advisor, Li Haizhou, Chief Scientist Professor, Yang Jing, Finance Manager also attended the meeting as non-voting attendees.

The meeting was chaired by Academician Xu Yangsheng.

The Council heard a detailed report from the President of SRIBD, Academician Luo Zhiquan, on the implementation of the resolutions of the Third Meeting of the First Council, the development and construction of SRIBD in 2022, and the financial report of income and expenditure. The members of the Council highly praised the development of the Institute in 2022 and the achievements of President Luo Zhiquan in leading the whole team.

Dr. Lee Ping presented the Council with a report on the work plan for SRIBD in 2023, as well as the financial budget plan for the construction of basic research institutions in 2023. The Council carefully reviewed and passed the above resolutions.

The Council also deliberated and approved resolutions regarding the appointment and removal of Deputy Deans of the Institute, the draft resolutions for the Fourth Meeting of the First Council, and the nominations of Council members. Finally, the Council members provided many constructive suggestions for the high-quality development of the Institute.

Before the meeting, the members of the Council visited the SRIBD exhibition hall and were briefed on the research and development achievements of the Institute in recent years.
